Head of Marketing & Communications, Geneva or Zurich 80-100%

We are Schellenberg Wittmer, a leading internationally oriented Swiss business law firm. To strengthen our Business Services team, we are looking for an experienced, strategic and hands-on professional to join us as Head of Marketing & Communications.

In this key role, which can be based in Geneva or Zurich, with regular travel to the other location, you will report to the COO, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for the overall marketing strategy, brand management as well as the coordination of all marketing and communication activities.

Your Responsibilities

Strategy, Leadership & Governance

  • Overall accountability for all Marketing, Communications and Business Development (MarComBD) initiatives across our offices in Zurich, Geneva and Singapore
  • Build, lead and continuously develop a unified international MarComBD team of eight professionals, fostering cross-office collaboration and efficient workflows
  • Manage the full MarComBD budget
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leadership and key internal stakeholders across all offices

Brand Management & Positioning

  • Develop and execute integrated brand, marketing and communications strategies across all channels (online and offline)
  • Oversee corporate brand management and identity, ensuring consistent application across all markets

Digital Transformation

  • Drive and continuously advance digital transformation projects within the MarComBD function
  • Expand and strengthen the firm’s digital marketing capabilities across all offices
  • Lead the strategic use of digital channels to increase brand visibility, engagement and performance
  • Identify, evaluate and implement suitable digital tools and platforms in close collaboration with IT and external partners

Communications & Public Relations

  • Lead public relations activities in a highly regulated professional services environment
  • Drive improvements in internal communications, including the introduction of new communication tools, and conduct firm-wide communication training

Business Development & Client Events

  • Design and implement strategic business development initiatives across practice groups and offices
  • Oversee business development training programmes for junior professionals
  • Support partners and teams in strengthening client relationships and market presence Developing impactful business development event concepts aimed at clients and prospects, while overseeing their planning and execution
  • Ensuring appropriate post-event follow-up to maximize relationship building and commercial outcomes.

Internal Event management

  • Leads and supports internal events with HR, ensuring engagement, brand consistency, and alignment with firm goals.

Employer Branding & Talent Positioning

  • Lead employer branding campaigns to increase brand awareness and strengthen the firm’s positioning among students and young professionals
  • Oversee employer branding initiatives in close collaboration with the HR team, ensuring alignment between corporate and talent branding strategies

Your Profile

  • Degree or advanced qualification in marketing, communications or a comparable field
  • Several years of experience in a senior marketing role in a service industry, ideally in that of or similar to legal services
  • Experience in directing a team across various locations
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing digital transformation projects within MarComBD functions
  • Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on implementation skills
  • Excellent written and spoken German and/or French and English.
  • High-quality awareness, structured working style and strong sense of ownership
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Hands-on, service oriented with the ability to work and adapt to a number of stakeholders with different needs.
