Martin Weber is a Partner in Schellenberg Wittmer's Mergers & Acquisitions Group in Zurich. His main areas of practice are private and public mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets and stock exchange law, corporate restructurings, corporate governance and shareholder activism.

Experience

  • Regular advice to boards of directors and anchor shareholders in corporate governance and shareholder activism matters
  • Counsel to former SIX-listed Panalpina Welttransport (Holding) AG and its board of directors in connection with the CHF 5.1 billion public exchange offer by DSV A/S (listed at NASDAQ Copenhagen)
  • Counsel to SIX Group on the carve-out and sale of its European cards payment services business into a strategic partnership with Euronext-listed Worldline at a total consideration of CHF 2.75 billion
  • Counsel to Corvex in joining forces with the investment company 40 North and their joint substantial stake-building in SIX listed Clariant Ltd, a world leader in specialty chemicals, and the subsequent disposal of such stake to SABI
  • Lead transaction counsel in the merger of TWINT (Postfinance) and Paymit (SIX), creating the leading Swiss mobile payment solution in a joint venture together with Credit Suisse, UBS, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank and Banque Cantonale Vaudoise
